Lady Commandos rally to end losing skid
Thursday, March 29, 2012

The Lady Commandos started the Lady Warrior Invitational at LaVergne High School looking for a win and found two on the night.  The game didn't start off well for Hendersonville as LaVergne scored two runs in the top of the first off three singles.  HHS would score one run in the second inning off a groundout by Becca Griffin that brought Lindsey Munn home.  LaVergne would grow their lead in the third inning by adding three runs, which was helped by a couple of walks and an error.  Hendersonville would get six runs in the fourth inning to take the lead.  Lindsey Munn would start off the inning with a single, Julia Meade would then double, Alex Walker would get walked (during that at bat, a wild pitch would bring Lindsey  home).  Becca Griffin would single to bring Julia Meade home.  Emily Mays would follow that up with a single.  Carly Corah would drive home a run on deep sacrifice fly to centerfield.  The final two runs came in on a double by Destiny Paul.  The fifth inning would also be a good inning for the Lady Commandos as they would score seven runs.  Alex Walker and Becca Griffin would get walked, Melody Watson then singled, Emily Mays and Ashleigh Stratton would get on base with an error and a fielders choice.  Carly Corah would single to drive in two, Lindsey Munn would double to drive in two, the final runs of the game came from Brooke Biggerstaff as she singled to right field to bring in two runs.  The winning pitcher on the night was Brook Biggerstaff giving her five wins on the year (5-4).  Brooke came in relief of Julia Meade (who got a no decision).  Lindsey Munn finished the night going for 2-2 with a walk, single, double, two RBI's, and three runs scored.
